Former New York Knick Charles Oakley facing assault charges

New You Knicks past NBA star Charles Oakley is now facing assault charges due to a run in with three security guards at the Madison Square Garden. The incident started with the team owner James Dolan.  According to Dailymail.com, “Oakley is accused of shoving and punching the men while they attempted to forcibly remove him from his seat during the first quarter of the Knicks’ game against the Lakers Wednesday night.” Dailymail also reported that Oakley spent the opening minutes of the game heckling James Dolan. After awhile the crowd eventually got into it and cheered Oakley on. Here’s a statement from the NYPD, “On Wednesday February 8, 2017 at approximately 2030 hours, inside of 4 Pennsylvania Plaza (Madison Square Garden), a 54 year-old male was taken into custody after he assaulted 3 males employed by MSG.” We will continue to update you as this story develops.
